For teaching you can adjust the bridle, to f4-f6, you could even try on f5- f6, this will put the kites front lines closer to the center over balance making it more stable, a bit like if you were getting closer to a 2 line kite.
This turning will not be as aggressive as you would need it to be for wave riding.

The other thing to do is to make sure the guy learning does not de-power the kite too much, you can avoid that using the stopper ball on the de-power line, but then relaunch will be more difficult as more you de-power the better.
